i’ve got a pretty new look!

There’s still some kinks to work out, but I AM SO EXCITED TO SHOW OFF MY NEW LOGO & WEBSITE!

What do you all think?  This has been brewing so long & it’s here- eeeeeeek!! I really feel like it is ME. I have seriously talented clients. One of my past brides, Kate Buszka, is a designer for Proof Branding & she created this gem. I still need to blog her wedding so you’ll see more of her soon! Dapper Paper created my awesome logo!

Thank you for your patience if you run into any bugs or ugliness. We’ll get it worked out soon. In the meantime, enjoy a sneak peek of what will be hitting the blog soon :)

around the web

Y’all, things have been crazy around here lately! This is definitely the busiest I’ve ever been with photography & it’s wonderful! Unfortunately that means my blog has been a little inactive. I’m trying to change that, but we’ll see. In case you are wondering, I update my Facebook fan page more often :)

I have a whiteboard beside my desk that has a list of everywhere I’ve been featured on the internet. I always intend to write about where I’ve been published, but I haven’t. Now’s the time. I want to clean that list off my dang white board!

- I was accepted as a feature photographer over on Loveolio- a Visual Directory of the Most Creative Wedding Photographers in the World! Really excited about this one :) :)

- YAY! I received an Honorable Mention in the Brenizer Method Contest. I was pretty sure I had no chance at all, so this is crazy! I love the work of ALL the judges- hoorah!

-Moment Junkie! I’ve been featured a few times since I last mentioned it- the Elation, the Mom & the Mirror, the Pound, & the Confetti Back!

-Josh & Mai-Li’s Smokey Mountain Wedding was featured on Comely Day

-Far West China, one of my favorite travel blogs, chose my travel photo for Xinjiang Pic of the Week!

- Jess & Tyler’s engagement session was published on the Lovely Find!

-Jessica & Will’s lovely garden wedding is over on DIY Bride!

Thanks for reading! I promise to be a better blogger… :)

What I’ve Been Up To

I’ve been so swamped lately, but I still want to share what I’ve been up to. Can’t wait to get a breather to post full weddings & sessions, but for now, this’ll do.

Until then…. :)

Moment Junkie’s Photo of the Year contest!

You all know that I am a total Moment Junkie. I don’t care if a bride is wearing a dress she bought at a thrift store or if she’s wearing a 5k designer gown. It’s the moments that matter the most during a wedding & that’s what I’m there to capture.

So when my favorite wedding blog in the world, Moment Junkie, nominated my photo for Photo of the Year, I was beyond excited. Out of the 365 photos they published last year, they nominated 25. And one of mine was in there! Holy moly!

To all of you that voted for me & shared the photo, THANK YOU! To Lauren & JD for having me at their wedding to capture this moment, THANK YOU! Garrett, you mischievous little ringbearer, THANK YOU! I’m happy to announce that I placed third in Moment Junkie’s Photo of the Year contest. I couldn’t have done it without you. I didn’t even expect to get close to placing. So many amazing photographers were nominated.

So today is a happy day. :)

Flushmount Albums from RedTree!

oh happy day!

There are a million other things I need to be doing, but instead, I’m procrastinating by writing a blog post that should have been done a long time ago. Last month I was so excited to get a sample album from RedTree Albums!

This is, hands down, the most gorgeous album I’ve ever seen in person. I’m so happy to offer RedTree Albums to my clients.

RedTree has these beautiful fabric cover options. The leathers are awesome too, but I am such a fan of the earthy, organic feel that the fabrics have. You can also deboss into the cover or have a photo cameo, I just opted to go with a simple cover for my sample album.

As you can see, the pages are super thick & the binding is made to last. It is definitely an album that will be an heirloom. The pages also lay flat & are creased, so I can design a spread across the whole page if we want.

I also love these RedTree Albums because they are handmade in Louisville, KY. That’s pretty dang local when it comes to flushmount album production!

So, what do you think? Get in touch & I can show you all the options they offer!
