THE BASICS

Hello, I’m Alex. I am a wedding photographer based in Knoxville, Tennessee. I photograph weddings in my hometown Knoxville, Nashville, and all over the Southeast. I’ve even shot weddings abroad!

MY APPROACH

A few years ago, a photographer friend told me “I love how you capture so many smiles. It’s a rare thing now-a-days.”  I thought that was such a weird compliment. I photograph weddings- of COURSE I photograph smiles & happy people. But he was right. There are so many different wedding photography styles- traditional, glamorous, edgy, etc. I began to realize that my specialty truly is joyful wedding photography.

I’m a storyteller at heart. You’ll see that my portfolio is filled to the brim with happy, genuine moments. I believe that’s what makes me different. You won’t see any wedding details in my portfolio- no hanging dresses in a tree or up close bouquet shots. I love beautiful wedding details, but those aren’t the photos I’m proud of.  My best work is full of happy people & happy tears. I won’t ask you to fake or recreate moments- I have my camera ready to capture the real thing.

ABOUT ALEX

I’m easy-going. I love anything that makes me laugh or anything that tells a good story. Amy Poehler is my hero. Arrested Development never gets old. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies & a minor in photography from Middle Tennessee State University. I spent a year in China exploring & learning the language. When I’m not photographing heartfelt weddings, I enjoy trying weird food, going to antique stores, & spending as much time as possible with my parter in life Jeff.  And I’m really good at Mario Kart.
